About Clayton Chalmers
I am a woodworking artist specializing in complex scroll-saw carvings. I began creating art in 2017 after discovering scroll-saw carving by accident while attempting to make a puzzle. What started as a simple project quickly became a passion when I realized that the technique could be used to recreate virtually any image.
Since then, I have continued to explore the possibilities of scroll-saw carving, drawn to the unique combination of craftsmanship and creativity the medium offers. Each piece begins with an idea and develops through careful cutting and attention to detail, allowing the natural character of wood to become part of the finished work.
Outside of my artistic practice, I am pursuing a medical degree and earned my Master’s in Public Health in 2025. Balancing medicine, public health, and art has shaped the way I approach both my creative and professional pursuits, with curiosity, precision, and a deep appreciation for the details that connect seemingly different disciplines.
